Petition to the Rhode Island General Assembly for payment of a debt, 1761.

Petition filed on behalf of Margaret Tree, a Massachusetts widow, by attorney Stephen Colgrove, to recover monies owed Tree by Robert Love. Love had falsified information in the first hearing to avoid the debt. Signed: J. [Josiah] Lyndon and Henry Ward. Lyndon was clerk of the Rhode Island General Assembly; Ward was the secretary.
